Lovely peaceful location close to the lakes

Very spacious cottage, great amenities throughout. Lovely walks from the door, close to Alston village. Clean, warm and peaceful.

Really lovely place and we had a very relaxing couple of days.

Had an amazing Christmas stay at the cottage, so peaceful and in a beautiful place. The cottage was so clean and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again.

The house is lovely and in a beautiful setting with fabulous river walks on hand.
Parking is restricted to two cars although the house accomodates six. 
We had a problem being asked for extra cleaning charge but it turned out the host had sent it to the wrong guest, for which they apologised.

Me my partner and 4 children came to the cottage for 2 Nights it was absolutly amazing we felt so at home and cosy it was very clean and the utility room was a bonus after our days out in the river and walks with the children the utility room kept all the mess of it in one place and easier for us. The beds wow so comfortable we felt like we was the only ones on earth so tranquil. We will be returning & thank you so much for our stay. Highly recommended to our family/friends.

Really nice place , the views where lovely it was nice and private but was close distance for things to do such as going to the lakes for the day , only down side being we got sent the wrong code and it took just other an hour to get the correct code to which the lady on the phone tried telling me I didn’t have a booking there and wasn’t very helpful apart from that was a good stay

We had the loveliest time at the cottage, we only wish we had booked a longer stay. Perfect Father’s Day stay with our girls, who also loved the cottage. Gorgeous surroundings & views,  so peaceful. Can’t wait to come again during winter & make use of the stunning fire.

We enjoyed our stay here definitely recommended

only issue was the hot water disappeared and never came back for ages and the shower over bath didnt work! Other than that I could of lived there. Stunning cottage. Great communication and easy check in and out.

Had a wonderful weekend, the area was beautiful and very peaceful. Would definitely stay again, hosts were lovely and really responsive to your enquiries. The cottage itself is a dream, an provided with the needed facilities.

We had a great stay, beautiful location and nice house. Could have been a bit cleaner and it was too hot, but otherwise it was lovely.

The location was set in beautiful surroundings right next to streams and wildlife. 

Lovely walks from the cottage down to the local pub.

Set in an idyllic spot close to a lovely river walk and surrounded on all sides by stunning countryside, Clifton is ideally situated for a family or small group to get away from the city and embrace nature. The house itself is well equipped and spacious. Our only issue was that the heating wasnât working when we arrived but on speaking to the on-site manager we understood it was due to be fixed imminently. Communication was otherwise prompt and helpful.

Great stay, very comfortable, sits in between two towns so some options for pub grub/ shopping but otherwise recomend arriving with your main groceries. Also a pub just a walk away from the entrance of the property. Very beautiful scenery, lots of walks around - we drove to Ashgill force falls which I recommend. The first evening we put the heating on but only noticed in the morning it had not worked - however once I contacted Payman they had someone within 5 minutes come sort it out and offered us extra wood for the hassle. The fireplace was a great feature, I do recommend picking up logs for it (there's  directions for a petrol station about 10 minute drive). The beds were comfortable, and three toilets (one shower one bath) was very handy too. Thank you!

We enjoyed our stay at Paymanâs. The host was extremely friendly and responsive when we needed to ask questions. 

Make sure you take all the food resources that you need, there was some complimentary coffee sachets and biscuits but there wasnât anything else, so make sure you bring oil, butter, milk etc if you need it.

Great stay, lovely location and spacious property

Absolutely beautiful place. Very clean and easy to find. We were up graded due to fault with heating and the new place we got moved to was amazing even included a hot tub. Kids loved it will definitely be booking to go back very soon.

Very nice holiday cottage plenty of space all bedrooms good size sitting room with fire place, kitchen with everything you needed  beautiful views,excellent location everything was perfect recommend for everybody.

Very good host. Easy to communicate. Cottage was great, few requirements here and there but all round excellent. Would recommend

the cottage was lovely and spacious.
The only thing Iâd say was we had 3 logs of wood to last us the whole night (which didnât) 
Also, the heating didnât work once whilst we were there. 
Other than that was lovely would reccomend.
